Welcome

Welcome Message from President of Organizing Committee

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 1st International Congress of Chinese Nephrologists (ICCN), I would like to extend my warmest invitation to you to attend this meeting, held in Hong Kong on December 11-13, 2015.

The Hong Kong Society of Nephrology (HKSN) is proud to initiate and host this important and meaningful international meeting for Chinese Nephrologists for  the first time.

ICCN 2015 is co-organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong with the support from the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong. The Conference is also endorsed by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN). The Congress is designed to promote nephrology among international Chinese nephrologists showcasing their academic achievements and to provide a platform for sharing the state of the art clinical and scientific research data from Chinese nephrologists globally.  We expect that the world’s leading nephrology practitioners and scientists will attend and present in this Congress.

The main theme of the Congress is on “Neprhopathies” and the key topics of the Congress are:

1. Diabetic nephropathy (糖尿病腎臟病)
2. Hypertensive nephropathy (高血壓性腎臟病)
3. IgA nephropathy (IgA腎病)
4. Lupus nephropathy (狼瘡腎病)

HKSN has been continuously promoting academic activities in renal medicine. Hong Kong has organized several international and regional meetings with huge success within the last twenty years. These meetings include Asian Pacific Congress of Nephrology 1995, first Asian Chapter Meeting of the ISPD 2002, first ISN Conference on Prevention of Progression of Kidney Diseases 2004, and the 11th Congress of ISPD 2006, the 2nd Congress of the International Society for Hemodialysis 2009 and the ISN World Congress of Nephrology 2013.  The attendances to these meetings have been large and we have received excellent feedback on the quality of all the scientific programs.  As President of the Organizing Committee, I hope this ICCN meeting would once again allow us to foster friendship among Chinese nephrologists in the world. This ICCN has received wide enthusiasm and supports from Presidents of the Chinese Society of Nephrology, Chinese American Society of Nephrolgy, Taiwan Society of Nephrology and Macau Society of Nephrology respectively.

In addition to the main themed programmes, we will organize a Pre-Congress Peritoneal Dialysis Unit visits, Pathology Course and a Dialysis Economics Roundtable.

I would like to invite you to submit abstracts to the Congress and we will provide Young Nephrologists Travel Grants and Best Abstracts Awards.

I would also like to invite industrial partners and pharmaceuticals around the world to participate in the Congress and take this golden opportunity for promotion to an expected huge delegate of health care professionals in the field of nephrology.

The meeting will also feature attractive social programs including Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception.

Please mark your calendar and join this Congress, the first international meeting for Chinese Nephrologists and explore the beautiful city of Hong Kong.
